Reebok
Reebok is an international footwear and apparel company that specializes in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of fitness, running, and CrossFit sportswear including clothing and footwear. Founded in 1958 as a subsidiary of J.W. Foster and Sons, a company with roots dating back to 1895 in Bolton, Lancashire, England, it was named after the Afrikaans spelling of rhebok, a type of African antelope. The brand gained prominence in the 1980s with the introduction of the Reebok Freestyle aerobics shoe, the first athletic shoe designed for women. In 2005, Reebok was acquired by the German sportswear giant Adidas, operating as a subsidiary. Reebok has been a major player in the endorsement of athletes and celebrities, which has significantly contributed to its global presence and recognition in the sportswear market.
