Debenhams
Debenhams was a British multinational retailer that specialized in selling a wide range of products including clothing, household items, and furniture. Founded in the 18th century, specifically in 1778, by William Clark, it initially started as a drapers shop in London. Over the years, Debenhams expanded its operations, both domestically within the UK and internationally. The company was known for its department stores which were key locations in many city centres and shopping districts across the United Kingdom. Debenhams offered its own brand of products alongside international brands, providing a wide selection of goods to its customers. However, after struggling with financial difficulties, exacerbated by changing retail habits and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Debenhams entered into administration and announced the closure of all its stores in 2021.
