British Home Stores
British Home Stores, commonly known as BHS, was a British department store chain primarily selling clothing and household items. Founded in 1928 in Brixton, London, the company expanded across the United Kingdom and reached its zenith with over 160 stores nationwide. BHS was well-regarded for offering affordable clothing, household goods, and luxury items, catering to a broad demographic. Financial difficulties led BHS to enter administration in April 2016, resulting in the closure of all its stores by August 2016 and the loss of approximately 11,000 jobs. The brand has since been relaunched online, focusing solely on the sale of lighting and home furnishing products.
