Matilda The Musical
Matilda The Musical is not a company; rather, it is a stage musical based on the 1988 children's novel by Roald Dahl titled "Matilda." The musical was adapted by Dennis Kelly, with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin. It was first brought to the stage by the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) in November 2010 in Stratford-upon-Avon, before moving to London's West End in October 2011. The musical has since enjoyed international success, including a Broadway run that began in March 2013. The story revolves around Matilda Wormwood, a bright and precocious young girl who loves reading and possesses telekinetic powers, which she uses to overcome obstacles, including her disdainful parents and the tyrannical headmistress, Miss Trunchbull. Matilda The Musical has been praised for its wit, charm, and the depth of its emotional and social themes. It has won numerous awards, including multiple Olivier Awards in London and Tony Awards on Broadway, recognizing its achievements in acting, creativity, and production.
