TikTok
TikTok is a short-form, video-sharing app that allows users to create and share 15-second videos, on any topic. It was launched in 2016 by the Chinese tech company ByteDance, initially under the name Douyin for the Chinese market. The international version, known as TikTok, was launched in 2017 for iOS and Android in most markets outside of mainland China. However, it only became available worldwide, including in the United States, after merging with another Chinese social media service, Musical.ly, in August 2018. TikTok has gained immense popularity, boasting millions of users globally. It is particularly noted for its addictive quality and highly engaging content that spans across various genres such as dance, comedy, and education.
