Harrod Horticultural
Gardening is the act of growing and cultivating plants. Ornamental plants and flowers are usually planted in gardens, mainly for their looks while vegetables, fruits, etc are planted for consumption. Gardening could be very easy and enjoyable when you possess the right gardening tools and crop protection equipment. Possessing the right tools for gardening is just as vital as choosing what plants to grow in your garden. Not having the right tools to cultivate your garden could lead to less output. It’s not so easy finding gardening equipment that suits your needs and style, luckily there are a number of companies to help you not just to find the right tools you need for your garden, but also supply them to you, as well as help you to make your garden as beautiful as you’d like. One of such companies is Harrod Horticultural.
About Harrod Horticultural
Ron Harrod started Horrod sport with just £300 in 1954. He used this investment for the purchase of fishing nets which he transformed into agricultural and gardening nettings. By the end of the year, Harrod Sport had a turnover of £5000, and the company, Harrod Sport Ltd was incorporated. However, Harrod Sport went on to manufacture sporting equipment especially goal nets and posts after receiving their first order for a pair of goal nets in 1957. The company continues to grow and expand, purchasing their first netting and steel cutting machine in 1963. They also acquired a factory in South Lowestoft Industrial Estate in 1978 and its first powder coating machine was installed in 1959. The company acquired its first delivery lorry in 1980 and a robotic welder in 1985. Harrod manufactures equipment for several sports, being an official supplier to Commonwealth games held in India in 2010, and the UEFA Champions League final in 2013. After discovering the similarity between crop protection and goal nets, and putting to use over 60 years of experience, the company expanded to give rise to Horrod Horticultural in the year 2000. The company remains a family run business, run by Chris and Stephanie Horrod. The company has continued to grow, providing a wide array of gardening ornaments and tools as well as kitchen equipment. Harrod Horticultural is the winner of the Which Best Buy Raised Beds – 2017, as well as the Chelsea Product of the Year - 2012 & 2014.
